About Us

Our community choir is a vibrant collective of everyday individuals from across Central Ohio who share a deep passion for singing. United by our love of music, we come together to create harmonies and build camaraderie. Beyond the joy of performance, our choir is also committed to making a positive impact in our community. We proudly donate a portion of our proceeds to Groveport Madison Human Needs and provide a scholarship to a deserving GMHS senior each year, allowing us to share our musical gifts while supporting our fellow neighbors and contributing to causes that matter.

We came together a few years ago and performed several concerts a year.  But something was missing; there was so much talent in our choir and not enough people in our audiences.  So in the winter of 2015, we decided to take a leap of faith and made our next concert a BIG production to show off our local talent–and we performed “Let’s Go to the Movies” to our largest audience ever!   We sang all styles of music – contemporary, rock, Broadway show tunes, and old standards – to name a few.  The best part was seeing the community come together to support us, and also allowed us to donate a portion of our proceeds to the Groveport Madison Human Needs We have also performed “A Broadway Experience” in 2016; “When You Wish Upon A Star” in 2017; “A Sentimental Journey” in 2018; “The Great American Road Trip” in 2019; and “As Seen On TV” in 2020.   Unfortunately, we were unable to produce a stage show in 2021 due to the pandemic (although we did produce several virtual concerts), but we came back strong with our “Hooray for Hollywood” show in 2022!  In 2023, we presented “One Hit Wonders” that featured music from artists or groups who rose to fame with only one hit before fading into obscurity; our 2024 production of “The British Are Coming” featured music from singers and groups under the realm of the United Kingdom!  Our 10th anniversary show in 2025 production took us on a thrilling musical journey as we went “Back to the Future.”

Every year it becomes a challenge to top the previous years’ shows…but it makes us strive harder so that we don’t disappoint our audiences.  At our 2025 wrap-up party, we revealed the theme for our 2026 show to our choir members…as the choir entered the room they were welcomed aboard “THE LOVE BOAT” by the captain and crew!  The show will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, in the Groveport Madison High School Performing Arts Center; we will host both a 1:00 pm Matinee and a 7:00 pm evening show. We’re setting a course for a musical adventure that will be exciting and new! Come aboard, we’re expecting you!

Tickets will go on sale in December, 2025.  For more information about how to get your tickets once they go on sale, click here.

Join Us

Thanks to everyone who’s shown interest in joining the Groveport Madison Area Community Choir. We’re currently at full capacity with 98 members, and are no longer accepting new singers at this time.  We’re thrilled with the incredible voices already on board and look forward to sharing our music with the community during our next show on March 7, 2026.

We kindly ask members, if they are financially able, to contribute $25 each to help offset the cost of music, costumes and supplies.

There are always plenty of opportunities to help out behind the scenes. We are in need of backstage hands, stage crew, set builders, costume designers and seamstresses, dancers, ushers, lighting, ticket takers, communications, etc. Just let us know your talents and we’ll be thankful to put you to work!

Support Us

The cost of producing our first-class shows is overwhelming–purchasing music, renting costumes, securing props, to name a few items–is a huge expense.  Because part of our mission is to donate a large portion of our proceeds to local charities, we try to secure donations via sponsorships and fundraisers to help us with necessary expenses.

Become a 2026 Community Choir Sponsor!

We could not possibly produce a show of this magnitude without the generosity of our sponsors!   We appreciate each and every one of our 2025 sponsors.  They are so supportive of the Choir and our community, and we appreciate everything they have done to help us be successful.  Please help us support these businesses in return throughout the year!

If you’d like to help offset our expenses for our 2026 show, please consider becoming a sponsor at the following levels:

$500:     Full page ad in Playbill

$300:     Half page ad in Playbill

$200:     Quarter page ad in Playbill

$ 75:      Business card ad in Playbill

$ 50:      Patron Page (name ONLY will be listed in Playbill)

All sponsors will be listed in the Playbill for choir show. The larger your sponsorship the more exposure your business will receive. Donations of ANY denomination or in-kind donations of goods or services are welcome, accepted, and much appreciated! We are proud that we donate a portion of our proceeds to benefit local charities, including Groveport Madison Human Needs and student programs at Groveport Madison Schools.  For more information about our sponsorship program, please contact Terri Christensen at 614/753-2947 or send an email to GMCommunityChoir@gmail.com.  Deadline to place a playbill ad is February 3, 2026.

Your support is greatly appreciated!

Buy Tickets

We will perform two shows on March 7, 2026, at 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm.  Tickets are on sale now! General admission tickets are $15 and reserved seating is $20.  Reserved seats are sold out for both shows…but general admission tickets are still available for the 7 pm show. Tickets are available on-line at gmacc.booktix.com and in-person at Groveport Zion Lutheran Church office (rear of 6014 Groveport Rd.) from 9 am-12 pm weekdays (M-F) thru March 5, 2026. All attendees must have a ticket (including children).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR DAY OF SHOW:

We want to share some important information to those that are planning to attend our performance on March 7th. Theatre doors open 45 minutes before the start of each show. If you arrive early, you’ll need to stand in line or have a seat in the lobby. We are happy to announce that the GMHS Band Boosters will be selling water, popcorn and candy before each show and during intermission for your enjoyment. Cash and credit cards are accepted.

All attendees MUST bring either their mobile ticket on their phone OR a printed copy of their ticket to gain entry to the auditorium. Please be sure you have your printed or mobile ticket ready to show for admission as you enter the auditorium. If you ordered your ticket online, please check your phone text messages and/or email with the subject line “Groveport Madison Area Community Choir Ticket Information.” You’ll find your attached tickets in this email. You DO NOT need to print the tickets–you just need to show your tickets on your mobile phone at the door for admission to the theatre.

Please note that we will NOT have a will call system in place, so we won’t be holding any tickets at the school for pickup. Anyone who arrives without proper proof of their ticket purchase will unfortunately not be permitted to enter the auditorium.

For those that haven’t purchased tickets yet, the 1 pm show is sold out, but there are still tickets available for the 7 pm show. The best way to guarantee a seat is to order your ticket online at gmacc.booktix.comTickets will be available at the door Saturday on a first come, first serve basis until we reach capacity for the 7 pm show ONLY. Please bring cash or check, as we will not be accepting credit cards at the door.

We’ll have signage throughout the high school lobby with separate entrances for Reserved Admission Seating and General Admission Seating. Be sure to get in the correct line based on your ticket type.

Our choir members and volunteers have worked hard since last September to be ready to perform this show for you! Our 11th annual show follows in the tradition of our previous shows: we are here to entertain you, have fun and raise money for great causes, including Groveport Madison Human Needs and a scholarship for a deserving high school student. We are very excited and can’t wait till curtain time to take you on this musical voyage! We appreciate your support!
